Brief Overview
Dohalim is a member of the Collective hailing from the dual worlds of Rena and Dahna. He was the former ruler of Elde Menencia on Dahna. He is uncertain whether his origins are psychological or spiritual, but sees his memories as real.
Early Life
Dohalim was born on Lenegis to the high-ranking il Qaras family as a Renan--a 'race' of people who are able to use artes and are the oppressive ruling class over the Dahnans of their sister planet. However, Dohalim didn't initially pay much attention to the plight of the Dahnans. A gifted musician, he enjoyed playing violin with his friends on Lenegis.
Dohalim never aspired to be a Lord, or a ruler of a Dahnan region. However, due to the status of his house, he was expected to compete to become a Lord and enter the Crown Contest to decide the next ruler of Rena. One of his friends, Tarnigen, was his competitor. Tarnigen was adamant about raising his love Fahria in Renan society, as she was born a commoner. Tarnigen and Dohalim dueled, and although Dohalim begged Tarnigen to stop, the duel ultimately ended in Tarnigen's death.
Fahria was distraught and swore to never forgive Dohalim. He was elected Lord of Elde Menencia, but when he arrived, he realized that the screams and cries of the Dahnans, who were then slaves to the Renans, reminded him of the way Fahria cried after Tarnigen's death. Unable to stand it, and only wanting to make the sounds stop, Dohalim abolished slavery in Elde Menencia and refused tacitly to engage in the Crown Contest.
Although initially Dohalim wasn't necessarily concerned with the plight of the Dahnan slaves, eventually he grew to respect and admire the people of Dahna and truly see them as equals. His guardswoman, Kisara, helped him both gain respect for and unlearn certain prejudices he held for Dahnans. Dohalim joined up with Alphen and Shionne's party, alongside Rinwell and Law, in order to take down the Renan Lords and end the Crown Contest for good. Eventually, it was discovered that Renans were in fact not native to Rena at all, but Dahnans who came from a line of genetically modified Dahnans. Although he struggled with the revelation at first, he accepted it fairly quickly.
System Life
Dohalim is a newer member (as of the time of writing Feb 2024), and so hasn't had a chance to explore much. Despite the fact that he struggles with blaming himself for things that aren't his fault, he is kind and soft-spoken. He's also interested in taking up our violin and improving the Collective's long-forgotten muscle memory for the instrument.
