Brief Overview
Caitlyn is a member of the Starfall Haven, originally from the city of Piltover in the city of Runeterra. She is agnostic about her origins, but prefers to think of her memories as real in some way, and rejects a purely psychological approach to her existence in the Collective.
Early Life
Caitlyn was born in the city of Piltover to the wealthy and influential Kiramman family. She was sheltered from a young age by her mother and father who wanted her to carry on their family’s name and legacy. This upbringing, however, felt stifling to Caitlyn, who took up marksmanship as a hobby as a way to distinguish herself.
Her family also sponsored a young scientist from a less influential family named Jayce. When Caitlyn was still in her young teens she grew to be his friend and helped him with his research when she was able. At some point, a group of young teens from the undercity, including Caitlyn’s future partner Vi, broke into Jayce’s apartment and lab in order to steal what they could. Vi’s sister accidentally set off an explosion in the apartment, leading to Jayce sustaining minor injuries–though the subject of the research was apparently forbidden, and Caitlyn’s mother deemed Jayce too much of a risk to her daughter, leading to him being forbidden from talking with her for a while.
Caitlyn also grew in her marksmanship abilities, and when she was older she joined the city’s police department, becoming an enforcer. Although she tried to distinguish herself by her abilities and work ethic alone, she was often seen as only being hired because of her family. At worst, she was seen as out of place on the police force due to her status and wealth.
After sustaining injuries in an explosion during the city’s festival known as Progress Day, Caitlyn became convinced that something wasn’t adding up, and she began investigating an undercity mob boss with Vi, who was released from incarceration with the understanding that she would help Caitlyn navigate the undercity and uncover who was responsible for the bombing. They uncovered a conspiracy in the process tracing all the way back to the police force.
System Life
Although Caitlyn has been slow to adapt to life in the Collective, she still maintains her marksmanship abilities in-world and has friendly competitions with others who use firearms. Generally, though, she keeps to herself.
