Brief Overview
Baizhu is a doctor from the nation of Liyue in Teyvat. He is agnostic about his origins, but prefers to treat his past as real.
Early Life
Baizhu was born in the nation of Liyue. Although he was ill from a young age, he was interested in studying medicine, and studied at the Akademiya in Sumeru. At some point, back in Liyue, his mentor passed on the snake Changsheng to him, as well as the curse that Changsheng carried with her. Changsheng had been passed down from teacher to pupil for innumerable years, and took Baizhu's healing abilities to another level. He was able to cure almost any illness, but he was fated to pass away relatively young as a result.
Despite this curse, Baizhu saw Changsheng as a valued companion in his medical practice, and considered her his closest friend. Knowing his eventual fate, Baizhu initially tried researching immortality, to see if there was a cure for his curse. In so doing he came across Qiqi, an undead girl, who he took in and cared for. He attempted to keep himself emotionally distant from everyone knowing his fate, and came to see the search for immortality as fruitless.
Baizhu accepted that he would die young and would be ill most of the time, and resolved to let Changsheng's curse end with him, vowing never to pass her on. He could not strain himself too much or he would erupt into coughing fits or faint; he used a cane to get around on occasion. However, when he was with patients, he tried to put on an air of confidence and wellness, sometimes pushing himself until he got home, when he would lie down and rest for hours.
Baizhu was very competant as a healer and as a pharmacist; his concoctions had a reputation for being incredibly effective, but also incredibly bad-tasting. He strived to make his medicine affordable for everyone.
System Life
Baizhu, being familiar with chronic illness, has become someone many people rely on when they can't handle the symptons of our body's illness. he is gentle and forgiving with others, although he takes looking after everyone's health seriously. In-world, he is one of the Collective's medics, and tries to help out when people are sick in the inner world as best he can. He is looking to start a pharmacy somewhere on the Maharran continent. He also misses Changsheng dearly.
Although he and Hu Tao Previously didn't get along very well due to his pursuit of immortality and her being...well, a funeral director, they have since reconciled.
