Brief Overview
Ava is a member of the Starfall Collective and also several members of the Aviary subsystem, which consists of different versions of Ava in various emotional states (and Wrathia). She has no real beliefs on whether or not her memories actually happened somewhere else, but she is adamant that her memories be treated as real and consequential.
Early Life
Warning: This section contains mentions of self harm and suicide.
Ava was born on a colonized planet far from Earth in a sector of space dominated by TITAN, a religious cult and political force focused on the eponymous Titan, a creature that conquered and bought out many planets--including Ava's home planet. Titan also conquered and defeated Wrathia and her empire, with Wrathia poisoning herself shortly before Ava was born. Because of the cursed poisoned wine that she drank, her soul attached to Ava's soul, who was the lifeform born the closest to Wrathia's death.
Because Wrathia perceived Ava as weak and Ava did not understand her attempts to make a pact with her to enact revenge on Titan, Wrathia tormented Ava instead. Wrathia would occasionally briefly possess her and cause her to have outbursts or even harm herself, on some occasions even attempting to kill her. Ava became violently depressed.
When Ava was around 16, she came into contact with Odin Arrow, who had come to Ava's planet when he was informed that scavengers were about to destroy it in order to rescue Ava's childhood friend, Maggie. She manages to sneak aboard Odin's spaceship as the scavengers attack, escaping the fate of her doomed planet.
After the ship crash lands on a TITAN colony planet, Ava is impaled on the wreckage, and her ghost finally makes a pact with Wrathia in order to save her life and as she requests, to gain an 'entirely new life'. Ava awakens is physically changed, now able to manipulate magma and heat up parts of her body hot enough to melt metal, which she does on the wreckage impaling her.
Gil ends up joining Ava, Odin and Maggie; they end up at a Titan enlistment center, where Ava gets lost in the crowd. She gets called on by Strategos Six, a top TITAN agent to demonstrate TITAN's newest technology--a pod that changes the person to get inside. What the crowd doesn't know and that Ava finds out after accidentally entering along with a hapless volunteer, is that it essentially strips the victim down to the bones and nervous system, replacing the missing parts with something else. Ava avoids this fate, and in desperation drinks a potion that Wrathia provides for her, transforming her further and causing her to go on a murderous rage, attempting to kill Strategos Six as well as people in the crowd until she passes out.
Divergence from canon
Most of Ava's early life isn't known in her canon. The fact that she was put into foster care is not necessarily canon.
Collective Life
Ava has worked on some of her anger and trauma issues since joining the collective, and has had a fairly good time 'chilling the hell out', as she puts it. Although she does still sometimes get heated (pun intended).
The Aviary
The Aviary consists of several different Avas, all of whom go by Ava. Here is how we differentiate them:
- Blonde Ava: This version of Ava is pre-pact, and generally has a meek demeanor. Ava in this state is human with long blonde hair and a fair complexion.
- Pact Ava: This is Ava post pact and pre-potion. This Ava is slightly more bold and stands up for herself more. She has dark red hair and somewhat red-tinged skin, especially when she gets angry. Her Sclera also occasionally turn yellow. This version of Ava and Vengess Ava are the most common to see.
- Angry Ava: This is not just Ava when she's angry, this is post-potion Ava who is BIG MAD and wants to smash all the things. Very rarely seen. She looks like...well, this.
- Vengess Ava: Ava post-potion high, probably the most confident version of Ava. This Ava looks like the image on this page. She is also generally similar in personality to Pact Ava, with a slightly more optimistic attitude.
Wrathia is not a version of Ava but a distinct member of the Starfall Collective who happens to be connected to the Aviary in a different way than Ava is connected to her various selves.
